German turret number colors

Post by tao »

I know the number ID thing is quite an in depth topic but for a camo pattern tank like a Panther G for instance..would there be any color preference for turret numbers or another way to ask it would any number colors not be used for such a tank?

They were unit specific and denoted group, platoon and individual. Usually three numbers of low value with heavies.

In terms of color, Panther numbers were usually red or black painted over white so the edge showed.

Best scenario is to find a photo of a particular unit or tank you like and copy it.
What, me worry?

As ausf describes but colours are entirely unit specific
