Battery

Post by tankie57 »

Hi everyone...a quick question from a newbee.....Would a tired battery make the turret of my chally 2 stick? i've been having problems with the turret clicking and sticking on traverse and i think it could be a dying battery. When i put the battery on charge it is showing a red light which leads me to believe that it could be the case. The turret assembly is clear and everything is connected as it should be,i.e teurret drive wheels etc. Thanks chaps....

Is there any way you can post a video showing what your Chally is doing? There's a good chance someone may be able to identify the problem if they can see it.

I think it probably there's something getting into the turret ring; electric cable for example. Remember turret motor consumes very low electricity. A battery that can't move the tank can still rotate the turret.

It clicks and jams up but seems to move ok with a little hand pressure.i think it could be wiring too. There is a lot of it under there and i may have to use a cable tie to keep them all together.it happens when i join the 2 halves together but not when the hull is separated,it moves freely then.bloody frustrating as i want to get on with detailing. Also is the RX18 unit supposed to be glued to the top of the battery box. Thanks for the replies guys.

There is one way you may try to figure out what makes the turret jam; first unscrew all the lower hull screws, then rotate the turret to where it starts to click and jam, finally you can open the hull slowly to see what inside that makes the turret jam.

Regarding the RX18, none of my tanks has the RX18 located on the battery box. Note that the stock wires are not long enough for you to put the RX18 anywhere inside the tank as you wish. So, it must be located near the center of the tank but not on the battery box as it would block the BB gun motor. I have mine stick on the side wall.
