Barry from Savannah GA "Newbie"

Post by BarryC »

I wanted to quickly introduce myself to this forum.

I have been modeling 50+years and have built just about every type of model there is. My primary interest is large scale aircraft and my "current" main haunt is the LSP site. Warship models are my favorite subject followed by armor and real space models,

I recently viewed a build by Uncarina (Tom) on his conversion work of the HL M1A2 both here and on the LSP site and I"M HOOKED. I have been reading through Atcttge's M1A2 SEP V2 conversion and "think" that is the way I want to go with mine. Armor has always been one of my interest starting back when Monogram introduced their 1/32 armor kits in the 60s. At age 61 now not only do I find the larger scale s easier to work with but they allow me to detail at a much higher level than the smaller scales and 1/16 is a perfect scale.

I am not a prolific builder as to volume but I am methodical and very detail oriented and to than I have also purchased the static version of Tamiya's Tiger I along with the Aber Tunisia detail set K02. I also have the Trumpeter Tiger II (Porsche Turret) and the M16 Quad 50 Halftrack that I "intend" to build one day.

Some great modelers and modeling going on here and I am looking forward to following along and hopefully adding to.

Thanks,
Barry

Welcome from another member on this side of the pond. Side note, Savannah is one of my favorite US cities. Love it there.

BARRY on a very cold day here I offer a very warm WELCOME to the Forum
When I was building my early Tunisian Tiger 1 I had to fashion most of what constituted an early Tiger 1 myself including the exhaust shrouds and the 4 pot Feifal air cleaners as well as the front and rear fenders and of course as I was putting the final touches to it along came "ABER" with the K02 pack,
I said a very rude word although the price for the full pack was quite daunting.
I wish you well in your modelling and r/c endeavour's.
Shaun.
I think I am about to upset someone :haha:

That is cool. One of my favourite all time. Epitomized jet planes.
