Battery Charging

Post by silversurfer1947 »

It is a while since i asked any stupid questions, so here are a few. The two batteries that came with my Tamiya Tiger package are labelled 7.2v 2400mah NiMH. The charger secondary is marked 8.4v 180ma, 12v 140ma. My simplistic understanding is that it will take 2400/180 hours to fully charge one battery, which means nearly 27 hours to charge both. Is this correct?

I am fairly sure the charger isn't a smart charger, so is it possible to over charge the batteries,in case I forget to turn it off?

Can someone recommend a suitable fast smart charger suitable for the Tamiya battery connections, please?
