IMEX Premium Series III Machined Steel Drive Gear Set.

Post by jackalope »

Hey guys anyone try these yet? Just got one in from Eric of IMEX for my KT and it looks great. Gears mesh really smoooooth, bearings on every shaft, thicker steel frame then before, the motors look real nice too however I plan to swap out my JP motors I got from Ian in these.

My last 4.1 hardened steel gearboxes are getting kinda worn what with all the hundreds if not thousands of scale miles I've put on this little dude, he's been one hell of a good tank so far that's for sure! Built it out of all metal and it'll take any beating I can throw at him!

I'll try to get some pics up of the new gearboxes and their install, just hope the output shaft bearings I installed slip off the old gearboxes!

Both my HL Pershing and Taigen Sherman are running on the 4 shaft V2 gearboxes. They are freaking unstoppable. And both of those tanks weigh over 12lbs.

Hey, I got an idea...

Tanks: HL M26 Pershing, HL M1A2 Abrams, Taigen M4 76, HL M45 Pershing, 1/18 PZ IV, VS Abrams, [coming soon]

Terry, if you got the 4:1 I have bad news - they won't fit in a jagdpanther. That's why I run the dual ratio in my JP.

I hope your KT has more robust running gear! The 4 shaft gearboxes did a number on the plastic sprockets on my Abrams lol.

Metal drive sprockets, metal tracks, metal road wheels, metal suspension arms, metal torsion ban suspension all in a metal lower hull, I HOPE that better be enough! ;) The only plastic part on my tank is the upper hull and part of the turret.

OK, I get it, you're just using the motors from the JP, not the gears. Yes, it will fit the KT, and that's what's in mine. What's that? Do I have video? Silly rabbit. @) @) @)

Wait, maybe I don't get it. When you say the JP motors you got from Ian do you mean motors from a JP (jagdpanther) or does the JP stand for something else?

JP 400 (or whatever they are I'm bad with numbers) high torque motors from Ian, Tankbear, same gent who sells the IBU2 radio gear.

That's the same KT I started with! Picked it up as a factory rebuild for cheap, reeeeaaaaaal cheap! Built it into the monster I now own.
