Best place to get a IR heng long battle sherman
Im looking for a place to go to get the Sherman done and ready for IR battles using the required Tamiya electronics and IR turret. Any suggestions? Or is it cheaper to go with a heng long and upgrade the electronics?

If you are going to buy the Tamiya electronics, you might as well buy the entire Tamiya tank. If you have a Heng Long Sherman, I would just buy one of the aftermarket boards that will get you to your goal. I would recommend the IBU2 but that is going to be a tight fit in a Sherman.

Hallo Scott, The first thing to know is that HENG LONG are finishing with I/R so finding a new I/R HENG LONG Sherman is going to be difficult.
If you are intent on getting a factory fitted I/R Sherman it means TAIGEN/TORRO or TAMIYA, I know nothing about MATO Tanks but I expect someone will come forward who does.
If you want I/R in a HENG LONG then you would need to fit an after market control board or an old Heng Long I/R board,
If you want to fight your Tank in a club then it will be expected to be TAMIYA compatible, which means a CLARK/IBU2/SLU/ELMOD/DBC board +an I/R emitter/receiver(Mushroom)
The reason for this is that there are internationally set rules for fighting with I/R equipped Armour.
Of course I/R fighting between friends is done using whatever equipment you have to hand, and you make up your own rules.
