An Honest Dealer?

Post by SCHWEREPANZER »

Probably most have a reluctance to air certain types of concerns in a public venue, especially with a topic that will live in eternity on the net and when reputations are at stake. I know I do. But, I have a question borne from a sinking feeling that something might be amiss. Has anyone dealt with the vendor and on-line store ClassicWarfare, a company doing business from Switzerland? I made a pre-order purchase in June knowing it might be a while before the item would be in stock. I've made interim contact with them easily enough to date. Today, when I checked the site, an ominous notice appeared on the screen to the effect that their web-site was no longer operating but that contact could be made by contacting them at Classicwarfare@..... That contact address directs the query to a Microsoft company site seemingly having nothing to do with ClassicWarfare. So, my question is: Does anyone have a track record with this vendor?

I just went to their website and it seemed to be working just fine, loaded with stuff I want to spend money on, like the Armed Assault stuff. 88MM Flak gun, Rommel's Command halftrack, and much more. I'll be anxiously watching to see how this turns out for you because this looks like a great vendor and I truly hope they're on the up and up.

Just to be sure, is this the place you're talking about?

It's a bit of a relief to say that upon re-checking the web-site, it looks like it's up and running again. Glad to be able to say it. Just wonder what the heck caused it to close down. Hopefully, all's well that ends well.

Not just remarkably like, looks identical to me. A quick Google, reveals a web site with 3 pages of problems with Boystown, admittedly the last entry was 2014. Check out the term and condition carefully. The Boystown version actually contradicts the Distance Selling Regulations, in that it attempts to pass any loss or damage in transit on to the customer, which is against the law in the UK. Perhaps this is why they apparently set up an operation in Switzerland, outside the EU.

I have no experience with either company, just reporting what I have found. I would suggest that considerable research is appropriate before committing funds.

SP, I hope you'll keep us posted and I hope your item arrives safely and in good condition. What did you order? The suspense is killing me! :)

Me too, Max--me too. The item in question is the Trumpeter Jagdtiger, which at the time was being offered at a 30% discount. So, now it's a matter of wait and see. If and when it shows up, I'll be glad to tell the world!

And they were selling this ? Has anyone know anything about this one:

The caption on the site says 1/16 and it would also be inline with the price of £209.....
