working bridge Layer
working bridge Layer
Hi Guys have spent months getting to this point, Have a working bridge layer still have a load of work to do , but finally got it to work , needs a few mods to it but the basics work . Please note that rivet counters there is no point you looking because its miles off. Had to change loads to get it to work , but tried to stay within my tolerance's if it looks right it is right LOL. Need to do a load of work to hide the workings and make it look more like a M48 . Not changing the hull from the Pershing (because if Chris 3 can make a solid Centurion lower will change over to that hull) If this happens can change the pershing to a another model. The Israel's had the M48 bridge layer fitted to the Centurion so did other armies . here are a couple of photos and a video http://youtu.be/tf8vMpUkSZ0

Re: working bridge Layer
I know how long and hard you have worked on this one Pete, and the problems that you had to overcome. You finally did it, and it looks really good, all working nicely too. Well done, perseverance pays off!

Re: working bridge Layer
OMG... That is so awesome. If I ever get a ton of money, I'd like to pick your brain on how you built this, the mechanism, materials, etc., because I wanna build one too.
Re: working bridge Layer
Wot is the design load for this bridge? I mean, wot is the heaviest load it can take? Is it possible for a 20 or so pound tank to run over it over a gap?
Re: working bridge Layer
Hi Will take a full metal Tiger without bending . so should take 20lb tank ,the tank it self weighs 11lb the bridge is just over 4lb , Think when finished tank will weigh 12lb and bridge will be 5lb.
