Clark TK22 and Taigen Panther

Post by torpedochief »

Uggggggg.

I have the TK22, I have the Taigen IR Panther G. I have the instructions from Clark. I have asked on RC Universe, I have asked on every RC Tank group on Facebook.

No one seems to know how to make the recoil work. Everyone sends me to a video that the guy doing it says. "Well the turret is not covered in this video," or "Uhh you have work to do in the turret,,,,,good luck.

If they don't send me to a video, they say "here is the Clark Tutorial. Just follow it."

Well it does not tell me anything.

So maybe you fine folks can help.

How do I modify the recoil, which looks like a HENG LONG to work with the TK22? I have no desire to use a servo. I do not IR battle either.

torpedo,

The default setting on Clark won't work with the Heng Long IR Recoil. Did you change the programming on the Clark board ? I haven't done this for a while now but might be able to help out.

Hey Brother Micheal. Thanks for the help. Not touched it as I have no idea of where the programing cable plugs into or what all the little buttons on the remote do.

Don, in theory it should be plug and play from Heng Long wiring, so I would start first by programming the Clark and see if that works before trying to re-do the wiring.

The programming cable and the sensor should be a 5 pin JST plug and it should go into CN2 (Now you do need the Clark instructions) and you will also need to put the jumper to the first 2 pins of J2(top 2 if you are looking at the board in the same orientation as the instructions). Do this before powering on the unit. Do you have the programming remote as well ? Once everything is plug in and power on, you should press the "Power" button on the remote until the LED flashed three times. Then press 1 and save it. The LED should flash once when you do that.

This will programmed the Clark to be on Heng Long Recoil mode. Power it off and unplg the programming cable and the jumper.

Now you can plug everything else back in and give it a try.

I think existing wiring will work the same way as Heng Long/Taigen (i.e. elevation goes in one direction only and cycles thru), but if you want directional elevation you will need to separate out the elevation motor wires and hook them up to CN9 Pin 5/6 on the Clark board.
