KV2

Post by Woz »

Decided to convert on of my KV-1's into a KV2 (and I wanted a break from Panzer tracks). Managed to get to bulk of the parts designed and printed in a day-

Test dry fit-

I pushed my printer to its limit so I could print the turret in under six hours. It is a bit of a mess but nothing that can't be easily cleaned up.

Thanks.

I always thought the KV-2 looked ugly but it's grown on me. Also the gun on the KV-1 looks kind of lame on such a big tank.

Thats the outside done-

Plenty of room inside for all the gubbins-

You can see from this picture how rough the printing was but it cleaned up well so no problem.

Woz,
This is looking great! Couple of tips, sir, remove the lift hooks at the front turret top as they were only added after the war when the Soviets were setting up this vehicle as a display, ( newer KV-1 hull and left over KV-2 turret ). Also, run your tow cables through the triangular fender braces instead of over the top. That will give them slack to fall normally over the front of the glacis. Following along!

More done-

The BB unit has a pellet tray fix on top

Elevation unit. It was a pain getting this in the right position so it would work right.

All slotted and screwed into place-

That's it, all ready to paint-

Wanted this to be a quick build so I'm not letting myself get bogged down with the detail.
