Re: Speaker Upgrade
This presupposes that you are prepared to spend more on your sound system than HENG LONG already provides and in truth the sky is the limit,
My own choice when I faced the same question was to upgrade to an IBU 2 PRO complete with sound upgrade which includes two "Visaton" FR7 speakers and an improved soundboard BUT it costs more than HENG LONGs original sound system Tank included! And this does not include the cost of a new transmitter/receiver.
So how serious are you about your hobby and do you have access to unlimited funds?

I think I am about to upset someone

Re: Speaker Upgrade
Forgebear has some small Mato speakers which people have said good things about. But as Shaun says you won't get much improvement over the standard due to the heng long sound quality is poor to start with.

Re: Speaker Upgrade
I have the Mato speakers in my tanks but I'm also running IBU2's in both with the amp card and they sound great.
But just sticking better speakers in without upgrading the board won't give you much better sound, it will sound a little better. Kinda like putting high quality speakers in your car while retaining the stock radio.

Thanks,
I was speaking to forge and he did mention that the IBU boards were good to upgrade. What kind of price are we talking for that set up?

Hey S, I'm going down that same road myself. So far I've tried three or four different brands and I just got the amp for the IBU (one for the clark, too, but haven't gotten to that one yet). I'd like to start a thread with my results but I can't figger out where to put it!

IBU2 start at £99, but I'm offering 10% discount on the lead up to Christmasaust85 wrote:Thanks,

Re: Speaker Upgrade
Hey S, take a look at this. I just got a TPA from Ian and put it in the JT so you may find this interesting. Very easy install, the TPA just sets down on the header pins on the IBU2. If you get an IBU you won't regret it, and definitely get it from Ian. He's just great and provides some seriously excellent customer service. I've purchased four IBUs from him already and I'll be back for more. Now I have to get him to hold that 10% offer for me until February when I should be ready to get an IBU for the Panther G (hint, hint, Ian).
You may have said already, but tell me more about the tank you want to put all this in. Brand, model, etc, etc. And where are you? UK?
Oh yeah, I don't know why, but I've found the Taigen speaker to be much better than the Heng long.
