It seems like you had an enjoyable visit to the Nations Capital my friend,
Forgive my ramblings but in the early 70s, VW brought back to life the "Kubel", they sold it in the USA under the title "The THING"!!!
They also tried selling it to NATO as a competitor to the MERCEDES "G" Wagon and the "Land Rover",
I find it refreshing that even a major car company has a sense of humour, although with VWs present troubles I think they are going to need it.
