Just thought Id post this up for anyone who like me, and been somewhat mystified by the dark arts of casting in resin. Its not that hard!
As Id reached an impasse with the SHADO Mobile running gear I was forced to look at options for making the wheels. In the end I found for the inner wheel a heavy duty wheel bearing with a smaller skate board bearing forced into it worked perfectly and cheaply for the inner. However the outer was going to be a problem. Each one had 6 spokes, 12 wheels for the tank and I was into a lot of hand carving plasticard. I managed to make five master spokes from a single food rubber mold to give me my master.
I bought a small starter set from moldcraft off ebay and had a go. The rubber mold was a doddle. The resin was a bit more tricky, the amounts have to be very exact but currently of an evening I can churn out three wheels a night as if mixed correctly it cures in 45 minutes or less.
Give it a go, its really not that hard....

That's a wheel bearing with the center pushed out, plasticard to the back and six milliputty spokes glued down and evergreen rod in the center

Being in the digital print industry I called in some favors and had the decals digitally cut...

Now for the chassis, one very very cut down Hen Long Pershing!
