Need help from Tamiya Tiger 1 owners

Post by Muscleflex »

Hi all,
I was just wondering if I could get help from any people with the Tamiya Tiger 1 Early Production full options kit.

Can you possibly count the track links you're running? I want to know what the ballpark figure is.

I have reset my idler thingy but it's still slipping and I'm near maximum adjustment so I think I will need to take a link out but I just want to know how many links typical owners have on their so I can compare mine and see if I'm running over or not.

Thanks and sorry for this question.

Don't bother counting links, your much better off setting your idler adjuster to about half way and then adding /removing links so your roughly at the correct tension. The. Use the adjuster for fine tweaks. On the tiger you want your track contacting the third set of road wheels back ideally. Some run tighter some run with more slack but it's down to personal preference.

Thanks. I can't (at the moment with my present tracks) rely on the hang to judge the correct tension based on the tracks touching the 3rd wheel - my tracks have been painted and some links are tight unfortunately.
A kind person has sent me spare tracks so I'll wait for those and will do this 3rd wheel tension test.
