Need a little IBU help

Post by Max-U52 »

EDIT: OK, got it, (Ian responded a lot quicker than I thought he would. Very cool) Thanks anyway. :)

Hey, Guys, I'm putting the IBU in the JT and I need to make some changes on the Micro SD card and I need a little help. I got the track recoil disabled, no problem, but I need the airsoft motor to run longer when I fire the cannon. Right now I have to fire the cannon three times before the airsoft unit winds up enough to actually fire a BB. I think I need a change in one of the "RecoilTime" lines but I'm not sure which one. Can anyone offer assistance? I emailed Ian but it's the weekend and he probably has better things to do, so I thought I'd check here as I know a lot of guys here have this board. Thanks in advance.

I believe the line in the .ini file you need to change is RecoilTimeDigital=. I believe this controls the length of the pulse sent to the BB mech motor. The value after the = sign is the time of the pulse in milliseconds.

Hope this helps

Change the RecoilTimeDigital= to something about 1500,

If firing too often reduce the number, if not enough increase the number.

Unfortunately as each airsoft is slightly different with motor performance and battery supply voltage each one takes a different time to cycle through the firing process.

Ian.

Thanks, Guys, that did the trick. You can see the video at the end of the box opening thread, but I'll do it here too.

Nice video as usual Gary. What radio system are you using with the IBU2? I had written to Ian about an IBU2 for my Torro KT, after seeing your JT run I'm going to order my 4th IBU2.

Hey Joe, that's the el-cheapo Hobby King T6. Under $30 at the US warehouse (plus shipping). I show the radio at the end of one of the videos, and I can now program these on my PC in seconds and they even have pots for channels 5 & 6 so I'll get a viper in it for volume control from the TX. I just need to boost the volume a bit, but I have some new speakers at home to try for that. I still need to make some kind of speaker box, though.

If the IBU makes as much difference in the KT as it does in the JT I say definitely get one! It makes the Jagdtiger perform just beautifully.
