I had a P-51 Mustang years ago, at the park nice day when a sudden gust of wind hit it as I was making a turn it stalled the plane, I turned to go with the wind and by the time I just got it under control it was in the trees. I could have fixed it but decided not to as I was done wasting time and money on something that could fall out if the sky and be destroyed.

I have a couple helicopters that are great but their run time sucks cause the batteries are so damn small.

I have one airplane left...it's the first one I ever built....a Pete and Paul trainer....Keep it for the nostalgia....the radio is shot...servos are still ok...Motor in that one is an O15...pretty powerful considering...could have put a 035 in it...but it might have tore it apart lol
But yeah...you can spend a lot on aircraft....one important thing learned is Gravity always wins :haha:

Helicopters are cool...the one thing I don't miss is about either is the ability to blink ;) ....as when flying either ...eye contact is important....Tanks are way more friendly....and like I tell the people at the one hobby shop here....I could fall asleep..and my tank would be right where I left it ....unlike an aircraft....which would dive headlong into oblivion ;)

PS...Those Helicopter batteries can come in handy Jack....I figure you don't have remote controlled features on any of your tanks...so you could hook things up independently and use the helicopter batteries to run them....one example is your smoker ...another your lights.. ;)

That's a good one Kiaser....I remember seeing that one awhile ago too....it's funny and sad...and very interesting...you can hear the trepidation in the peoples voices....but off they go....so much time flushed away in a second lol.... :/
This one is really heart wrenching.

Alpha, my new Tiger has servo actuated bow machine gun, main gun recoil, gun elevation is servo controlled to. Turret machine gun flashes, head light and tail light work, not to mention its 4 speakers and amp driven sound card and all the standard goodies they all come with too.

But I do need a small battery for my 251 build so a helicopter lithium battery may be the ticket!

When I first got my Gen 2 2.4 RX....it wasn't compatible with the Gen 1 gear....the Gen 2 is when they went totally remote...I didn't know at the time ...thought WTF!!! :haha: .....was too anxious to use the RX ...so I wired a 7.4 helicopter direct to the smoker unit....dang...it made the stock smoker smoke :O ...put out just as much if not more than the Tarr....The shortcoming is ...that smoker was made of plastic....when I opened up the tank again to add more fluid...found the element had got so hot...it melted into the plastic case and bonded with it 8O ...it still works...but it's to risky to use it now...but dang did that direct hook up work good :haha: :haha:

Hey Alpha, if you don't mind a stupid question from a new guy, could you please explain how you got the first video to post in the thread like that, instead of just as a link that takes you to another web page? I tried using the youtube and url buttons but I still can't figure it out, so a little help would be most appreciated.
When FDR coined the phrase "The Arsenal of Democracy", he was talking about Detroit. Proud to live in the 2nd most violent city in America!!
