KV2 periscope

Post by mike1268 »

Ok, I'm not sure if I'm being too critical here over nothing.

I'm looking to convert my Torro German KV2 turret to a Russian version. This means losing the German cupola, patching the hole up and putting another periscope on. My original idea was to take a periscope from the KV1 turret. When I've compared the periscopes, the KV1 periscopes seen over sized.

Just want some opinions on options

A: take both periscopes from the KV1 and put on the KV2 even though they seem a little too big.
B: try to grind one of the KV1 scopes down to the same size as the KV2's
C: try to make my own periscope either through grinding down some plastic bar or try to take a cast of the one i want a copy of.

I have already contacted Torro and they are not interested in supplying me with a single periscope.

Throw me your thoughts :)

Different manufacturer...so different specs...just change the two from the KV1 and put it on the KV2...no sense in going half way...When I did Mine...the measurements were the same...the HL scopes looked a little better...but I stuck with the provided resin scopes

I've gone with the hl scopes. They don't look bad once in place.

There used to be a guy that sold the turret kit on EBAY...who later carried the HLs as replacements...they aren't that bad...what I did to mine is drilled a small hole in the center..and a hole where they were to be installed ...screwed them on instead of gluing...and left them free so move like they should ;)
