Upgrading to Lipo on Tiger I

Hi all,
I have a question regarding my Tiger I. (Tamiya Full Options Kit Early Production Model)
It uses 2 nimh batteries. But they're quite heavy and dated so I want to start using my lipos for it (I have 2 x 2s 4000mah that I originally bought for my son's rc buggy but they're too big so they're not used yet)

Question is, rather than using 2 lipos, I read somewhere that for anything 2000mah and above, I can just use 1 instead of 2 batteries.
Now, instead of me making a 2 in 1 harness adapter for my battery, can I cut off the two Tamiya connectors from the tank (coming from the dmd units and the other unit) and solder them both to a single battery connector (in this case, I'll be using XT60 battery connectors) so it's only one plug to go into my single 4000mah lipo battery?

Is this ok or will this be a problem?

Also - will this affect the resale value of the tank/electrical units if and when I decide to sell them?

Greets Muscle....not sure I'm understanding your question...your Mah rate doesn't really matter...it's the voltage that does...just make sure the Lipo is a 7.4...otherwise there is a good chance your electricals will burn out...as I'm pretty sure the circuits aren't rated for anything over 8.6
I run a 1500 mah 7.4 dual leaf lipo in my tanks that require a small battery...that one lasts a couple of days before I have to recharge...so you should have no problem with the ones you have so long they are 7.4 volt

What I meant by my question was: The Tiger uses 2 batteries. I'd like to know if I can replace that with just a single lipo battery?
And if so, is it ok to cut off the tank's 2 x Tamiya battery connectors and solder both of them onto a single battery connector (an XT60 connector) so both units in the tank will run off a single lipo battery?
My wife made me put the tank away last night so I can't take photos of the connectors but I can do tonight?

Yes, you can. I have all of the Tamiyas with a seperate MFU and DMD running from 1 battery. I'd personally either buy the Tamiya (or other brand) cable that patches both MFU and DMD together to a single plug or make one yourself. By cutting those cables you're invalidating the warranty.

YUP...you should be able to Muscles.... just make sure you don't exceed 7.4 volts

Thanks. The tank is probably nearly 10yrs old... do they still have warranty?
