DARKAS for Leopard 2a6, DONE!

This is maybe one of the most stupid questions but..., if I don't ask, I'll never know...

I would like to have Darkas on my Leopard.

DARKAS means: DARstellung KAnonenSchuss or in English, Canon fire simulator.

http://www.rb-modelle.de/images/darkas/ ... s_leo2.htm

or

But they are way too expensive for such a small addon.

So, the big question behind this is:
Is there someone with a Leopard 2a6 (scale 1:16) which came with Darkas in the box (Tamiya?) but don't want to use them on the tank and is willing to sell them to me?

Would be much, MUCH MUCH appreciated!

Or... maybe someone with a 3D printer...

:haha: ...Kind of knew that Darkas...the irony is that I took them off and threw them away

On the Flipside...they don't look too hard to fabricate yourself ;)

Darkas Hi,
Peddinghaus/Archer and Elite all make one off decals to order, I have no idea how much it would cost,
The Colonel is as ever quite right that it is not too difficult to make your own,
GOOGLE is your friend for searching out websites with "How to do it" Tutorials

Yes, I can make lots of things myself, but the easy way was to try first :D

I found some pictures on the net already:

I'm the opposite Darkas...If I need something...I try to fabricate it first...if that fails...that's when a hunt will begin...Here where I am ...wait for parts requires patience...when I'm in the middle of a build...Patience is something I have very little of :shifty:
That kit looks pretty complete though..has a lot of hard to find brass accessories ...but the rack itself looks like something easily made ...I'd probably be more impressed with it if it was photo etched of made of white metal

OK, here we go.
First try to make the darkas unit from scratch myself...

I don't want to cut the bolt heads off the turret so I drilled little holes in the base plate of the Darkas to fit over them.
To get the exact location I used a piece of paper and rubbed over it with a dirty finger.
(I don't think this is correct English, but you'll get the point I hope)

It's fun to do. :D

I changed some pictures in one of the above posts.

......................

An update regarding my little Darkas poject...

Used only things which I found here at home.

Some plastic strips.

The pipes are made of 5mm blind rivets. (just removed the pin)
The inside was too small so I drilled them out.

I used two plastic forks, a piece of 2mm electric wire for the lock and some pins from my wife.

It may not look a 100% but so far I'm happy with my first scratch project.
Some Milliput and paint to go...
