Hi everybody, just seen this stunningly detailed 1/16 resin Hummel conversion at Store Juckenburg and wondered if anyone had had any experience of any of their products. I have the Taigen 2.4GHz Panzer IV and think it would look fantastic with this conversion but I don't know how compatible they are even though they're nominally the same scale. Thanks in advance for any info!

Hi, I have just looked at the Picture and it appears to based on a HENG LONG Panzer 4, which makes sense, after all they want to keep the cost down so that you will be persuaded to buy the conversion. shaun

Thanks Shaun - I'm guessing Taigen and Heng Long are pretty much identical? I have seven tanks in all, a mixture of Heng Long, Taigen and Torro and have never understood what's going on with the different names and specs LOL. As for buying the conversion I wouldn't take much persuading!!!

I am currently building an early StuG III using a Profiline resin conversion kit and it takes a little more fiddling to make it work and look correct than the normal build. It's just the price of the ticket you buy to have something different and unique to you. Michael on the Forum here has built a few Juckenburg kits and has made them all stunning examples of what can be accomplished with some time and effort. If you want a Hummel and are confident that you can do the work required, go for it! ;o)

Juckenburg uses readily available pieces whenever possible. For Pz IV based like the Hummel and the Nashorn, it is based on the Heng Long lower (His picture usually shows his parts in hull red), as well as the KV (Like his SU-152 and KV-1s). Even when they are not and can be mod like the JS-3, he will supply the parts to convert, in this case based on the Heng Long KV but with covers and suspension mods. He knows that for RC resin won't do so the covers and wheels are actually injected plastic. In the case where there are no Heng Long available, like the E-100, Maus, A7V and Porsche JadgTiger he does supply all the lowers with resin tracks and it is static only. However, I have converted his Maus to an RC with an all resin lower but replaced the drive gear and the tracks with Heng Long pieces. I have also use his Porsche JadgTiger upper (it is proper length and this is before the availability of Heng Long JT) on a mod Taigen metal KT chassis to get a properly scaled JT.

Here are some updated pictures and as you can see on the last one, it is simply a Heng Long bottom with Clark electronics. I even share this lower with a Heng Long PzIV. I just have to move the end plate to the Pz IV upper since the Nashorn/Hummel has a cab in place of the back plate. Disclaimer: I am a fanboy of Juck's stuff but I hope this helps.

Zaki your observation about the similarities between HENG LONG/TAIGEN and TORRO are well made BUT do be very careful because some upgrades are not interchangeable between the three,
The gearbox mounting plate being an example, if in doubt ask the dealer or ask us before paying any money shaun

Wow beautiful build Michael! Thanks all of you for your input. I realise such a job will require a fair bit of work to achieve but seeing the results that are possible I reckon it'd be well worth it. Provided that is I don't spend my money on a replica Panzerfaust first...

Michael has almost every tank from WW2 ...a shortcut would be to post a Shout Out "HEY MICHAEL C" not only will he have the tank you are interested in...it'll be so well done...you won't know if you want to attempt the build or not
