Hi,

I know a few people have coverted a KV1 to a KV2. Is it just the turret that is different or is there more to it?

The turret is the 'big' thing. ( Pardon the pun ) but there is other stuff involved. I did a Capture KV-IIA build and there are extremely well done Soviet version builds in the HL and Other Forum Sections by Alpha and others. Check them out for very useful tips and tricks.

One of my favorite tanks...modded to 2.4 gig...my Heng Long Blizzard Buster Gigant

Resin Turret (OOP)...The conversion was worth the effort....So just do it

As Painless mentioned...the conversion is basically the turret....few other little details like deciding if you want to keep the added armor both Taigen and Heng Long have on the side bulkheads...I took mine off...Warning though...there are huge openings that need to be filled if you do so

Thanks Ed...I agree...the KV2 has an awe inspiring silhouette...too bad there is no longer an archive of the build...it was fun fabricating the bits in order to get the finished product ...I think on this board..that photo is the last surviving image ...and it really doesn't do the tank justice

I have a KV1 on order with the idea of converting it. Will order the KV2 turret and see where I go from there then

Another question. Where do i get a KV2 turret from? All i can find it german captured KV2 turrets and I want it to be a russian KV2

does the gun elevation work on the resin turret, or is it fixed position?

The torro (German captured) one has recoil and elevation but need to remove the extra hatch fill in hole and add a Russian periscope
