back and bankrupt!

Post by mickyb »

Hi folks.......

Messrs Dell returned my pc today so I am back to plague you all again.

I may well be passing round the hat to pay for a new pc cos this one is poo.

It is a 5 months old Dell Studio and Dell has had posession of it more than me but they won't replace it, they just keep reprogramming it. I wonder if they actually know what is wrong with it or not.....

Oh well I will give it another go....

Thomas returned my Afterburner last friday.....it arived about an hour after I had taken the big motors out of the Tiger and put the standard motors in. Bugger..... now I have to put it all back together again.

I must say that even with the ElMod and a 5300mah battery, the standard motors on  3:1 ratio gearboxes would not push the Tiger up a slight gradient. I realise that it is 11lb all up weight, but I would have thought that the ElMod would have had a go at a slope.

While I have been off the air I have been working on the PZ4 and the turret mods are complete, just undercoat to do. I spose you want fotos so I will post a couple tomorrow.

Question......did PZ4's have turret armour added alone, or do I have to do the full tank armour plating down the sides as well?????

Have a great evening folks......Mike

I used to work as a courier driver a few years back and our company had the contract for Dell. It was a standing joke amongst us when we used to deliver peoples new computers that all drivers would always say "See you again!" as we left. I'd say that for every 3 computers we delivered 2 would be re-collected by us for one repair or another within 6 months.

Good luck with it, hope it doesnt play you up any more  :)

Make a back up disc for it while its working and there is not a lot on it save important files to disc from time to time then when it plays up next put the back up disc in and that should fix it. I take it its vista you have I have the same a real pain.

Welcome back. Depending on how many times its gone wrong, if its the same fault you maybe able to demand a replacement or a refund under the Sale of Goods Act 1979. If its only 5 months old you need to do this now, Because if you request a repair or replacement, then for the first six months after purchase it will be for the retailer to prove the goods did conform to contract (e.g. were not inherently faulty). After six months and until the end of six years, it is for the consumer to prove the lack of conformity.

Do not let them fob you off. They have to comply with the SOGA (79) and if they don't then report them to Office of fair trading and Consumer Direct  http://www.consumerdirect.gov.uk/
If at first you don't succeed, destroy all evidence that you tried.

Welcome back Micky, sorry to hear about your problems. I have a Dell C521, and its about 3 years old. Apart from a couple of minor niggles that Dell resolved in minutes, it's been fine. I used to have a Dell laptop and the lid cracked by the hinge? They collected it, repaired it and returned it within 3 days?

I have even stuck an upgraded graphics card in the current one, which should have strained the PSU, but that works fine too!

What exactly is happening with your pc that is causing your dilemma?

..and the standard motors may well be under strain pulling 11 lbs, the Elmod won't increase the bhp, though I would have expected the 3:1 to have helped??
