Re: Taigen mfu 2.4g
Hi Blitz, Colonel ALPHA used to defend Taigen control boards with a vengeance
But our very good friend appears to be spending his time immersed in the fleshpots of the Hawiian islands that the lucky bu**er calls home, I do not think there is a particular problem with their 2.4 boards and it is regularly updated,
It is just that a lot of people choose to change them for what is perceived as something better such as a "CLARK or IBU2" board.
But of course as the Taigen board comes with your Taigen Tank if you are happy with it why change?
shaun

Good afternoon,
I use the Taigen 2.4 TX and RX on a couple of my hybrid builds and it works fine. It has great distance capabilities and while some folks do not see the need for the fan on the MFU, (it can be unplugged and removed easily), I've left the unit as is and had no battery issues. I'm currently building an early StuG III 'B' that will be using the Taigen 2.4 electronics. Bear in mind that while it does have sound, smoke, front and rear lights, mg, etc, it is certainly no IBU2 board.
regards,
Painless

If you are scratch building then put some money aside and get on with your build and when you cannot put off installing a control board I would suggest you contact Ian/TANKBEAR with regards to his IBU2/Transmitter/receiver combination,
Right now there is not much that will touch it, and Ian's service is second to none

Re: Taigen mfu 2.4g
Hello lads more questions what's the difference between ibu base and pro, do there support taigen wire looms, taigen ir systems and how do you reprogrammed them

Re: Taigen mfu 2.4g
The pro does everything the base does plus
Servo elevation control
Servo traverse control
Supports up to 12v batteries
If using a five channel radio, 5th channel has two user selectable sounds
If using a six channel radio, 5th channel is used to start stop engine, 6th has three user selectable sounds.
Yes both version work with taigen wiring including ir versions, however the ibu2 ir code will not work taigen tanks. Ie you can no longer have ir battles with taigen tanks (or heng long) however does allow you to ir battle most other systems.
Programming is a mixture of dip switches on the board, for basic stuff like tank weight class, battery type, radio to ibu2 configuration. The rest is done by the supplied microSD card, plug into a computer and you can edit the settings in notepad or similar.

Re: Taigen mfu 2.4g
Wow it's like a bloody computer shame about it battles with taigen tanks, but as I don't know another person personally who has an rc tank I'll think about it but probs go for the ibu does the ibu support taigen but what's the down fall of it, sound isn't a massive incentive for me as long as it has the firing machine gun and engine noise
Re: Taigen mfu 2.4g
Two machine guns now were talking can you get a turret mounted machine gun that sounds and lights
