I reckon it will be a few days before i can get back to this one, spent two days sorting out the ravages of the Yorkshire Meet, and still not finished... :/

Got the rear deck and turret base/surround done. Starting to take shape now.

Cleared the decks of various other projects so dragged this one back off the shelf. Mostly filler and sanding, and then primer and more of the same. The suspension springs need to be clocked, and I have to figure out how to raise the rear sprocket, but for now I will get on with adding all of the turret and hull detail...which is quite a lot!

Looking great. I always think the Chieftain looks a bit odd without all the stowage bins.

You're right, it does look weird. I am printing bins as I type. Still a long way to go with this tank though, it has brackets and bins and other stuff all over the place. :/

Edit - That's all for today...

I found a load of pics I'd taken of some Chieftains parked up in Chorley some years ago (proper camera photos). One of the Chieftains had no bins and reactive armour. It took me a few minutes to figure out what kind of tank it was even though there were two Chieftains next to it.

Managed to do a few more bits and pieces. Clocked all of the suspension springs but they could all do with being even stronger. Gearboxes are in, tracks are on etc. Still loads to do.
