Tamiya Full Option Radio question

Post by MichaelC »

Hi all,

Not familiar with Tamiya full option kits, but is it possible to run them with a after market radio like Turnigy 9X but just replacing the receiver in the tank ? I know that they come with 4 channel radios, how are all the functions being perform on the stock radio ?

Thinking of getting a full option Tammy but don't want the extra radio.........

Hi Michael,
Yep should work BUT the radio must have analog trims. This is so you can use All of the full option functions. I use futaba radio. Brian...

Micheal digital trims work fine you just need to calibrate the dmd, or with the 9x adjust the epa to 120%

Thanks guys. Just figuring out my options right now but it sounds like it will work. Don't know what epa is Tom but will figure it out when it gets to that point.

Will browse thru some Tamiya manuals but they use trim control for functions? Or do you have to trim so that the stick can get to the position? Isn't that the same as Clark then? With Clark I have managed to move all the multi-function off the left stick and onto the buttons. Can you do the same for Tamiya?
