I have finally got round to starting my Firefly I have been told by guys that know more about Firefly's than I will ever know that to do it right it has to be 28mm longer so the hull will have to be cut up and lengthened so here we go. I got the Mato hull off Frank thanks mate I hope I do it justice ;)

Which Firefly are you building? There is only one that uses the extended hull, the VC. You would have been better of doing a 1C and ordering an upper hull M4 welded hull from Nick Aguilar. You should have saved the bogie mounts from the bottom of the hull. I cut mine off and re-used them because they are supposed to be there. I have seen two conversions to the VC, and they just don't seem to have much integrity. My hull bottom was made based off pictures and prints from an original. My build is the M4A1 build if you're interested in pictures.

Done some more work put the hull together using 2mm aluminium sheet I couldn't get the folds in the correct place I was 1mm out so had to cut the one side to make it fit properly I used the mato metal wheels and T49 duckbill tracks for something a bit different the last picture you can see the difference in length from the normal Sherman. This thing already weighs 3kg without electrics of top hull I hope the mato gears cope.

Got some more done painted and weathered the bottom half of the hull as well as start the build on the turret I am using the hatchette metal hull parts I got earlier this year then adding what is left by scratching the parts. I have also lengthened the upper hull.

Good morning,
Solid work all of the way through! The detailing on the turret is beautiful. Really adds that industrial look that Shermans are famous for. Following along.
