Bill is expecting his first (pre-)order of KV's thru any day now. According to him the first production run is complete and the tanks are on their way.
No mention on Mato's site of the Sherman yet...

just a small warning ...

the so called credit crunce is haveing an affect ,, airfix have cancelled the 1/48 limited kit of the sea vixen... now that was sure to be a massive seller in the aircraft world ... and that have reduced there new kitts for 2009/10 by 70% !!! trumpeter have also do done some like that ....

i wounder id that problem will spread ..... tamiya have put plastic kits up by almost 60%  .. hannants ,, will now not give a price for promised new kitts untill thay have actualy got them in stock! the tam hunting tiger ( jagdtiger ) is £49.99 it was listed in feb as £35.99 and i pre ordered .. phew ....
A tidy desk
is a sure sign of a sick mind ?

I think its important to remember that the raw materials for those Tam kits started out as crude oil @ $140 per barrel late last summer, not that you'll see prices tumble any time soon but I don't expect to see any more price hikes in the near future either... As for the new kits getting axed, you'll probably see them next year - the developement costs are a fraction of the cost for production tooling.
This year is going to be slim for sure, but the new KV-1 and Sherman are already tooled and the raw material costs have come down alot recently. Those tanks will go ahead for sure, you should expect that supply might be constricted to keep the prices higher tho.

Right now I think the most threatened tank project is Hooben's T55, they don't even have a market presence outside of the community forums (which in all probability share a global pool of 500 or so dedicated users). Its going to be tough to break into the market with out an established distribution chain or brand recognition.
Swathdiver & Mato's follow-on plans for the initial M4A1 sherman are probably also up in the air right now - I can see these being put back a year or 2 until things pick up... :(

I understand where mcevoyi is coming from. I've been looking for a Tamiya Kubelwagon, european version for a while now.

On several sites (which were sadly sold out) they were in the region of £57. My local model shop text me the other day and told me he had one in stock and as I was a good customer it would "only" be £99.99!!!

Needless to say I told him where he could stick it. I appreciate there is supply and demand but I won't put up with daylight flaming robbery.

when is the HL Sherman coming out because I was thinking of converting one to a BARV. it would be cheaper than using the tamiya kit and also has the correct suspension
