Lizards I don't mind to much, but snakes scare the hell out of me.I hate snakes with a passion,if they were all 20 feet long and bright orange I would mabe keep a couple in the yard.

I'll give you a nickel's worth of free advice- get rid of the color newspaper! Color news ink is toxic, and if he decides to try some, well I won't go into details. Best you can do for him is if you fill the bottom with sand or smooth flat rocks. The rocks work well- you just scoop them out and can wash them, or if need be, boil them. Remember that this little fellow needs your help to stay healthy.
Oh, and be sure to get a "hot rock" or heat lamp for him. But don't overdo it on the heatlamp or you will cook the crickets!
And, no- I've never had one of these little critters. However, I have had wild snakes (kept over the winter and released come spring) and currently have a turtle (for the last 20 years) using this system. I've also had geckos and newts (although I admit your little beast has me thinking of getting another pet for the house...) And the newspaper issue I know from collecting newspapers for the local no-kill shelter. And if color newsprint will make a dog sick, it will kill a small reptile....
Good luck with him/her.

hey mate,
dont worry about the news paper, he was in there for 10 mins while i set up the viv computer for him
here is his viv at the moment, the small branch on his cave is because the heat lamp (ceramic) is too high, so he can get a little closer, and there will be a large branch so he can get to the upper platform, but he / she is a wee bit small to be climbing that high at the moment.
oh and the heat rock, that a big no no with lizards, they will get carried away and sit on it for too long and burn themselves, my little critter has a heat mat which sits under the viv under his cave
thanks for the advice tho mate
cheers,
Matt
p.s. oh and guys, thanks for the whole i look like a bearded dragon thing LOL
