hlong rx18 vs rx13/14/15

Post by johnmar78 »

Hi guys,

I noticed the new rx18 looked like the tamiya dmds. My question is , does the new rx18 produces more amps than the previous rx13/14/15???? (more power?), is it reliable?/

I would like to try out the rx18 on the tamiya stock heavy duty gearbox....

Any feedback is highly appreciated...

Manythanks

hi johnmar78
from what ive seen, and read, they can handle more amps, not sure how much more though, its been built into an enclosure and is smaller than the rx13 and 14, which is handy, i think "the blitz" a member here has had a lot of dealings with them so it may be worth pm'ing him to ask his thoughts, but the general concensus is they are much better and can handle more amps than the old boards, i would give them a go with youre gearboxes

thanks guys.

I used to run old rx13 on tamiya gearbox and ended up lack of power to drive up the hills regardless the tamiya gear box has more gear reductions.
Therefore, my conclusion was to do with amps input to motor initially. I think tamiya dmd is giving 20amps, and HL is around 4amps.
I am not sure how to icrease the amps thru rx18 to motor since rx18 is really value for money. ::)

thanks Steiner I will have a look later

I was thinking of using the redundant Smoker switch and socket to wire up the fan to the board
