HL 1/16 M1A2 Abrams headache

Post by Vadermaker »

Hi , just recieved a basic HL 1/16 Abrams and the manual is err non existent , just a generic one for tanks. Nothing specific to the Abrams no parts location for the detail parts. Can't seem to find online the manual for this tank. Plus seems to be zero upgrades so far for these. However research showed that the gear box from the KV-1 /Pershing/ bulldog will work. But nothing thus far on tracks.( tho logic would say the leopard 2 a6 should work but to costly a mistake to make till proved) The Abrams didn't even come with any gear/ stowage so a cheap HE Abrams was picked up off evilbay
Any help hugely appreciated

Vm I also belong to RC universe and one of the members has bought a HENG LONG ABRAM's and he was complaining about a lack of upgrades, He was directed to www.hobbyraw.com for tracks and metal sprockets and wheels amongst other bits and pieces. So perhaps a visit to that site might help. shaun

Vm I should have added that if you do not know, RC universe is primarily an American site so while looking at what Hobby raw are selling is okay I would be trawling through the various German sites as well and of course our own Forgebear. shaun

Hi Vadermaker, I am currently working on a HE M1A2 and found this which may be useful:
http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/rc-tank ... ank-6.html
Tankbear on this forum has done a lot of work on M1A2 and you may want to look at some of his threads (use search box and M1A1 or M1A2).
Apparently Pershing boxes, tracks, and sprockets work but that's just what I can see from the thread above.
Hope that helps. Alwyn

Hi,
I'v had the ABRAMS now for a few weeks and still no up grades they will start to filter throught soon I hope I was Lucky that Nitortek sent me the Metal vision for the price of the standerd one so all I'm waiting for is the metal road wheel set. They are on sail in the USA but not here yet!!! Don't know why this is as the tank has been out for some time now. And yes don't know why there's NO stowage the HL Leo2 has none as well. Brian...

As I am more local to these guys than you are, heres a link to all the hot ups down under for the Abrams so far.

http://tankarmy.com/heng-long-tank/inde ... 9ls9utot52

There are only 7 bits, but looking through the entire site, thay have plenty of breakdown parts out of plastic.
I cannot vouch for international sales, but for my needs, never a dropped ball.
Have pumped over 2 grand (thats about 15euro/8 pence !!!!!)through these guys in less than a year with not a single let down.

These modern tanks are starting to stew my noodle. One outfit out of Germany has the Canadian bar-armour kit for a Leo available.
For me-not less than an organ, but for those closer to the correct currency, more attractive than your ex Mrs' drunk Sister :wtf: @)

Hi Herman,
The road wheel set looks fantastic. The thing is if I ordered them I will end up paying import AND vat on em so will wait till they surface over here. Not too long I hope. Brian...

Ahh, ok gotcha.
Sorry to dangle the carrot mate.
What if they were "used" & sent up to you from a 'private sale' from a domestic source ?
