recoil upgrade for tamiya kingtiger

IF ANYONE OUTTHERE HAS USED THE IMPACT RECOIL UPGRADE FOR THE TAMIYA KING TIGER 1/16 I WOULD APPRECIATE THEIR EXPERIENCE AS I AM HAVING PROBLEMS.

There are 2 different tamiya recoils (at least) which have drives 90 degrees out from each other ( i know tiger and kt are different for sure) and are slightly different diameter/ stroke. Are you sure you have the right recoil/ kit combination? Ive modified both types without issue. What specifically is the problem?

Thanks for getting back... The main issues are the slide does not reach the cutoff switch at the front.... the MAIN gear does not mesh with the recoil motor gear when fired so barrel does not return.... the spring has stretched so is now useless.... the TAMIYA recoil motor seems to struggle with returning the gun to firing position. When the gun is fired the return does not mesh gears no matter how much I try to adjust the main recoil gear with the motor gear.The slide bounces forward after firing.
I tried many variations but the main gear kept binding when the slide was at its most forward point in preparation for firing..

I understand there are two different UPGRADES, one for TIGER 1, which is a different set up, and the King Tiger, which I have. I checked both sets of upgrades and it appears mine is correct for the model. I believe the photos in the instructions do not relate to the KING TIGER, which is somewhat confusing.

The instructions seems pretty straightforward but I seem to have stuffed up somewhere... I could build a R/C hellicpoter that flies but cannot get this upgrade to work even twice... Either the motor stops, the main gear binds or the spring stretches......

I looked at other pictures of a guy who has built this upgrade and I see no difference in what I have done.... it just does not work right.

I put the tank back to original configuration and it works fine..

I may be taxing your patience but hope you can offer some advice....

Is the impact gear definitely the same diameter and drive peg in the same place as the tamiya gear?. I must admit I didnt use the kit, I cut the teeth off the tamiya drive and fitted a spring on a bit of brass strip. Works fine on my kt, tiger and jagdpanther. I bought springs in a box from a local qd store.

Mate, it all appears correct and your modifications make sense... so I don't know where I am going wrong except to say that it does not look right. I have returned the gear to its original configuration which works a treat... so the IMPACT Kit does not gel with the recoil system as provided for this TAMIYA model... buggered if I know. Could be I am too simple.
I appreciate your input TANKIE and what you recommend seems worth trying as it really comes down to the main gear and spring...
