New tank.

Post by jackalope »

I'm in talks with Christian of Ludwig to purchase a Jagdtiger kit and he recommends elmod electronics, being a newb I have no idea what this is or what I need to do. Should I go with elmod stuff or order an electronic set up from Taigen?

I have no clue what I'm doing here so I hope some of you do.

Jack,
For an amazing build like a Jagdtiger, I would recommend that you step up a little to a Hobby Grade set like the IBU-2 that Tankbear sells. He is a member of the forum here and has great complete sets that include the TX and a walk through of how to set up the board. The IBU-2 does some amazing things with smokers and especially sounds. Little added things that will really bring your build to life.
regards,

Are these things just plug and play or do I somehow need to program them? This is all new to me so sorry if I ask stupid questions.

Jack,

IBU2 is plug and play, Ian (Tankbear) will set it up all for you, he can supply everything you need including the radio, service and backup support is second to none, trust me. I bought an IBU2 Pro TPA (amplifier) deal included speakers and volume controls, not the rubbish HL, superb.

A good question, jackalope...
I don't know the IBU-2 or a clark board; I use in my tanks ElMod and I'm satisfied with it.
If you know the IBU and you are also satisfied with it and the support is nearer than ElMod...
Otherwise you can take a look at ElMod here: https://ssl-id.de/www.elmod.eu/product_ ... lvejoje0n6
There is not only the description available, there stands also the price... ;)

Ibu base model is £100 and I think the pro is £130 so still cheaper than the El mod fusion. I like my ibus, but I have tried the El mod yet. I was told the older ones where trick to set up but I'm not sure if that's true for the fusion.

I had fitted elmods to tiger 1 and panzer 111. You need the elmod sound board also which plugs direct to the main elmod board. Mini sd card stores tank sounds for various vehicles and you can also add your own sounds. Good system but I never had much time too work with it as I got into 1/6 stuff. Pity elmod cannot controll 1/6 tanks.

The new elmod is all in one board john.

Also elmod do a flex board which let's you use your own speed controller so you can use it with 1/6th

Talked to Mr.Tankbear and it looks like I'll be going with his IBU-2 setup TX and RX. Now I'm just waiting to hear back from Christian on the Jagdtiger details and my tax refund and I'll be building.
