Mato Sherman Upper Hull & Turret

Hi Guys,

Hope everyone is finally over the excitement of Christmas and New Year?

I have recently won the bidding war to get my hands on a Mato Sherman upper hull & turret from one of our favourite vendors Forgebear.

Just a few questions for our more experienced Sherman builders / modders.

1. Will this upper hull fit straight onto a Heng Long lower hull or will I need to modify it?
2. Same question as above but to fit a Tamiya lower hull?
3. Can I fit a recoil unit into the Mato turret?
4. Is the upper hull turret hole big enough so that I can mount my bulldog turret back onto it?

Can't think of anything else at the moment but and help or guidance and answers to the above would be most appreciated.

Hi The uppers do fit mato to Heng long and heng long to mato . You do have swop the tranny cover and use the one for the upper. this is because of the bolt hole pattern(you can cut up tranny covers and just swop the hole pattern)Heng long tranny cover fits better . one upper has the hole pattern on the upper and the other is on the trany cover. you may need to trim the front mud guard and a little of the transom . You will have to sort out a way of bolt it down none of the lower hull hole line up. Easy way it to fit a bridge over the gearboxes Metal or plastic, then open the hatches and drill holes through the hatch into the bridge(tap if you have any or use self tapping screws) screw down through the holes.
