Panther G pulls to the left when going forward?

I have the 2.4 Ghz radio, there's no trim adjustment possible.

I got it used, and all I've done to it is swap the gearboxes, and the radio system. It did not do this at first, somehow seems to have gradually developed a pull to the left when wanting to just go straight forward. the tank has done this even after changing the plastic gearbox to steel gearbox, and even changing the Rx to a different one then back again (the new one didn't have the sound volume jack and made annoying whining sounds). It has the plastic sprockets and idlers. I checked the tightness of the idler wheels, even lubed the plastic road wheels with silicone shock oil because they squeaked - I can't think what it could be -does anyone know how to fix this problem?

Good Evening,
It looks like your tracks could benefit from having a link added to each side. They should sit a little looser on the running gear and not pull on the sprocket or idler. This might be your issue. I've gotten rid of a few instances of pulling from side over another by loosening up HL's overly tight tracks. They should sit like this picture:
regards and good luck,
Painless

Thanks painless...that's awesome advice! I noticed the tracks seemed tight like a rubber band tight but i thought they were supposed to be like that from the factory. Now i know what my next project is.

Painless is on the money, overtight tracks will do that.

When building tanks I have found a quick test for getting a tank to run straight. I remove the motors from the gearboxes and reassemble the lower hull. If everything is running free and smooth the chassis will freewheel smoothly across carpet in a straight line with a shove. If anything is out of alignment or sticking then it tends to pull to one side.

That's one thing about the 2.4s Marc...no trims  ....one of my Shermans does that...it used to pull to the right...changed the motor...now it pulls to the left :haha: ...so sometimes it's not the tracks...but the motors themselves... ;)

PS...Don't go running out and purchase aftermarket motors...it's just the nature of the beast...the TXs should have trims...because no matter the brand of motor...they cannot expect a perfect paring to leave the factory

I guess you're right, it's a small annoyance but i guess i have to live with it, maybe. Painless I did what you suggested, added a link each side, it runs faster but still pulls. Perhaps someone could make a voltage adjuster for the motors??? Like a trim dial in line with the power wire to each motor? Now maybe i should start a new topic because i have no idea if that is even practical.
I changed the gearboxes on my T 34 now IT pulls too.
to Wibbly, if they don't run straight what's the fix? IS there a fix?

The best solution till HL replaces the old 2.4 with the new designed one is ...if you have spare motors...try exchanging them out...I have a lot of motors...just haven't got around to playing with them yet...my Sherman's pull is slight...so I don't mind much ;)
