Hi mate
Regards your ESC is it for a single motor or are your driving a pair of motors? The other thing make sure, is you get one able to handle the load,
I find the easiset way is to connect an amp meter in line with the motor and then run it at full power to get a base reading. Next I use a standard wooden clothes peg and attempt to stall the motor by gripping the motor pinion whilst its running. Take a reading of the maximum amp reading obtained. ie. free running 0.47 amps, stalled 7.6amps. I normally add 20% to this stalled reading and then buy a ESC to suit ( in this example, 7.6 + 20% = 9.0amps so Any 10 amp ESC will sufice.
My self as a preferance use a Company called Mtronic all there units are garrenteed 100% waterproof and they have a good range, also they do mail order.
Hope this information helps you
