opinions needed

Post by jagman62 »

Hi, need a bit of advice on how to proceed with a problem on ebay.I bought a 2.4ghz tx & rx on ebay and received it yesterday, opened up the bulldog & connected rx up to lower hull, every thing ok,then when I plugged into the upper gun elevation ok,firing ok then when I turned turret left went 90' & stopped, turned it right & rx started to smoke(I am using the same wires that I used on the rx18 I took out)now turret will not move at all.
contacted seller and he is adamant it was working ok so giving him the benefit of doubt I asked if he would give a refund for £10 towards a new 2.4 rx,no chance,so what to do ,open a dispute in ebay or ju
just put it down to experience.By the way I paid £23 for the tx& rx plus £7 p&p.
also I put the old rx18 back & every thing working ok.

Before you return the stuff you brought , check the turret rotation motor/gearbox - if it has jammed it will keep killing your RX's and It would not be the new Rx's fault . as It still works when you refitted the original radio and tried again and everything is OK , the new Rx is at fault . You are entitled by law to a complete refund or another radio . Blimp .
to the bouncy room ! Yay !

The old RX worked just fine, you installed the new RX and it doesn't work right and then starts to smoke, you install the old RX back and it works just fine. The RX you received is trash, open a claim through Ebay, paypal, your credit card company or whom ever you need to.

You may ask the seller again to a partial refund and let him know if he does not agree you will get all your money back in the claims process. He may agree at that point.

thanks for the replies ,the reason I am hesitating in opening a dispute is because of the fantastic help I have had from the members on this forum, this guy might be a member of,and maybe he didn't know it was broken but it was listed as new but in an e-mail he said it was out of a tank he had sold & the tx battery cover was painted white.
Anyway have informed him of my intention to open a dispute,so see how it goes.

If it was sold as "New", then eBay's rules state it should be "A brand-new, unused, unopened and undamaged item". If it's been painted, it definitely falls foul of their "Not as described" rule.

Hope you get it resolved to your satisfaction.

You can't sell an item listed as "new" when its been used. Ebay is strict with that you'll get your money back

Just my two cents............. Open the Dispute...hash it out that way...it shouldn't matter if the seller is a member here...if it was a bad transaction..just do it ...it might be the only way you have your say ...and he has his....if the item was misrepresented...then the truth will win

You'll get your money back. Member her or not its a crudy thing to sell something as new when it came out of the tank the seller owned. That means its NOT NEW!
