Howdy from Arkansas USA

Post by PaPaGrizz »

Hi y'all,

Being an avid RC pilot and recently suffered a stroke, I decided I better find something that due my Fubar'ed hand I would not have my hobbies falling out of sky.

So, I went on Amazon and these little gems. Have a ball shooting my Bride in the butt with these :D

Little did I know that when "goggled", tank forums, I had no idea about the hobby end of this.

I seemed to have read a ton of info and getting ready to pull the trigger on something not too expensive but add to as time and money permit.

With that said. What do all think about something like this?
or
When I requisition one please be prepared for some questions

Buy the way. Any tankers in North Central/Southern Missouri? Or are we out numbered with fine folks across the Pond?

Thank you all for the great forum.

Good Afternoon,
Welcome to the Forum. Either of those tanks will be a lot of fun right out of the box and should you choose, be great starter vehicles for upgrades and detailing into a more realistic version of the tank that they are based on.
regards,
Painless

Grizz Thank you for that ,I laughed for ten straight minutes when you said that this was not an expensive hobby. First a very warm welcome and second whatever you do try your best to make very close friends of your partner and most especially your BANK manager, this hobby is more addictive than crack cocaine and twice as expensive!!! BUT it is great fun, you want to ask questions? we love showing off how much we know, so ask away, as you will discover there are people from all over the world who belong to the Forum and that is its strength. I hope you enjoy this place as well as learn a little, and if you know stuff let us know.   shaun
I think I am about to upset someone :haha:

Point well taken Shaun. Thats the reason I am looking at a Heng Long, that way, up front cost...not too steep, then add a bit at a time in upgrades so the Bride won't notice the sting as bad.. :lolno:

This worked quite well with fleet of choppers I own. She would ask. When did you get one one? My reply is always...This old thing? Oh I have it for quite sometime now.

Take Care,
Al

PaPaGrizz:

Being form Pennsylvania it's good to see new members located in the states. Unfortunately, RC tanking isn't anywhere near as popular here as it is in the UK. Maybe our need for speed and action (aka mayhem) has something to do with it (just an observation on my part).

Anyway, welcome to this great hobby. You have now entered modellings dark side, and will become addicted. This forum is a great source of information, shared by friendly, expert modelers. I always feel somewhat inadequate when looking at photos submitted because I will never be able to get close to the outstanding results presented.

Regarding $$$$ that can be spent on this hobby, after 39 years of marriage my wife and I have a mutual agreement. She doesn't ask, and I don't tell.

Again, welcome and enjoy the ride.
