Re: Tanks in French Town...2014
Mons is in Belgium, lol.
Been to Arromanche a few times for the D-Day celebrations, always tons of stuff cruising around. Best bit was one morning when we were headed to Bayeaux through the countryside and came across an entire US column on its way to where we had just come from. It was like travelling back in time, no modern cars or anything around, just trees and bushes, and the crews were all in full WW2 dress. Everything from Harley outriders to heavy lifting gear. I will never forget that sight.
It's amazing what is still hidden away over there. I know of a Chateau that was used by the US as a base, at the end of the war they simply parked all of the stuff that they had there in a colossal barn, in the forest. It is all still there, untouched, and in immaculate condition.
