Interchangeable Turrets

Post by Merlin707 »

Can anyone tell me if you can interchange the Heng Long turrets between hulls?

If not how much of a chore would it be to do?

In most cases yes. You will need three screws for the WWII Era ones, and 5 screws for the modern ones. Plus unplugging all the wiring of course.

I never tried it myself but they all uses the same size turret cog rings so you should be good. I think there is two variation of the smaller ones in terms of mount points. The big one for the modern era tanks are the same.

You're going to make a PerSherman Merlin
The first one I saw was Dragon245's about a year ago...the turret is a good match

He first posted it on fynsdad's Easy 8 build

Fynsdad later was thinking about modding his skirted Sherman

This is one he did for fun...it was for his son

So yes the Pershing turret does crossfit

I have a few ideas, possibly a pershiman possibly a pershidog.

Not going for historical, more as an army test bed for turrets and weaponry.

So no FURY Merlin? 8O ....or are you going to build it so you can just switch out like what fynsdad does...it's a cool idea...making different prototypes ;) ...especially with a Sherman.... countries all over made different versions...found that out the hard way... doing research for mine ...it's frustrating... but in hindsight..a lot of fun :D

Good Luck Merlin

Hi Alpha,

I've decided against the Fury build now seen as everyone is jumping on that band wagon.

I want to do something unique, so I thought a test bed platform Sherman would be a good idea as there is greater scope to modify.

It might be a better way to go...let the demand simmer down a little....just like the Kelly's Hero Sherman ... there's a craving for the parts to make the tank...not to mention if you go to some kind of RC tank meet...it would kind of "interesting"... to see a dozen or so FURYs running and battling :haha:

They are fun and fun tanks to work on though... try searching "Fynsdad"...his posts are like viewing the Sherman Thread :haha:

Have a good one Merlin
