Hi,
Can anyone help me I have install a clark broad to my Heng Long Tiger 1 and I want to add a movable MG34 on the hull using a servo. The problem is I am using the two servo's with the clark broad for the recoil and gun elevation. Is there any way I can do this.
Thanks,
Terry.

Re: MG34 Movable with servo
The short answer is no, you have two servo outputs on the board and you are using them.
If you have a spare channel on the Tx/Rx then you could in theory rig up another servo on that channel, but how you controlled it would depend on which Tx you have and whether there is a suitable control knob?

Re: MG34 Movable with servo
As RobG said, you are better off with another servo port off the receiver as the two servo port on Clark is quite specific and might not do what you want them to do anyway, definitely not the recoil one. You can easily use a separate servo port on the receiver and map it to a pot on the radio.

Re: MG34 Movable with servo
The Clark elevation one would work, its a 2 way control.
Theory:
If you switched the elevation servo for an HL elevation unit, then you could run the elevation off the HL 8 pin circuit and free up the servo port.
Practice:
The elevation servo port is usually mapped to the up/down on a tx stick.
So is the HL circuit.
I haven't come across anyone using both functions at the same time, but seeing as you have to program the board to activate servo elevation, it is a fair guess that this disables the HL elevation.
If you are using the machine gun in a tank destroyer, with no turret, then you could rig up a motor to a cyclical arm or cam, and run it off the the HL turret circuit, you would then have a reversible horizontal mg fan effect.

Re: MG34 Movable with servo
Thanks for the replys I think I will leave the MG34 static because I use the servo for the recoil and gun elevation and they work fine.
Thanks.
Thanks.
Re: MG34 Movable with servo
Hi there is a way to wire up a servo to the M.G. Have seen it done but cant fully remember how to wire it. The idea is to remove the servo drive circuit so it and alter it to cycle 360 deg. then you wire it to the M.G. fire signal when you fire the gun the servo moves and it moves the M.G. it is totally random how it works . Maybe someone has seen the wiring diagram for this.

Just a thought...perhaps a shot in the dark...your elevation and firing ports are free right....they are two pole pos and neg to be hooked to a motor that will rotate in one direction....get a small motor..one similar to those found on a helicopter tail rotor...make a small nylon rotor ...drill a hole in it...drill a hole in the back of the bead of the MG... stick the rod in the small rotor you drilled the hole interrythegrey wrote:Thanks for the replys I think I will leave the MG34 static because I use the servo for the recoil and gun elevation and they work fine.

The gun will only rotate in one direction ...but it will move remotely

Re: MG34 Movable with servo
If the HL elevation circuit is deactivated when the servo elevation is activated, he doesn't have an elevation circuit to use. I am guessing that this is as the servo elevation and the HL elevation work off the same stick throw. Wiring up a motor to the elevation using the HL wiring (which is what anyone without a servo would be doing) and then selecting servo elevation via the board programming would appear to defy logic.ALPHA wrote:Just a thought...perhaps a shot in the dark...your elevation and firing ports are free right....they are two pole pos and neg to be hooked to a motor that will rotate in one direction....get a small motor..one similar to those found on a helicopter tail rotor...make a small nylon rotor ...drill a hole in it...drill a hole in the back of the bead of the MG... stick the rod in the small rotor you drilled the hole interrythegrey wrote:Thanks for the replys I think I will leave the MG34 static because I use the servo for the recoil and gun elevation and they work fine.

I would not recommend hooking up both a motor and a servo, without clearing the idea with Clark.
Using the airsoft motor circuit would work, but not I assume, if programming the board for IR, for the same reason. Eg the airsoft wiring is not straightforward on a TK22 for someone who isn't familiar with a soldering and a circuit diagram, it requires a mod to the loom. That said, the IR apple circuit must be working in airsoft mode as that is needed to program the board.
The Clark board is a very compact bit of kit, and works well. I suspect that one way it has been made this compact is by using shared circuits. If this is the case, then programming one option will disable the other. If both could be utilised at the same time, then it would make no sense to have to program the board at all.
Overloading a circuit is a sure fire way to cause a meltdown, so a word with Clark would be the best course of action.

Re: MG34 Movable with servo
Hi guys ,on the clark board you couldn't use a servo to work from a servo socket, because to fire the M.G. the stick movement is down and left ,so the only way is to do it the way I suggested. or none at all.
