Ebay
I just sold some stuff on Ebay I'm sure they charge too much, do they actually take a percentage of the post..

Re: Ebay
They do that because Sellers got into the habit of having the "real" price in the shipping....that way they wouldn't have to pay as much...EBAY finally caught on..and decided to take a percentage of the postage as well....You still see some sellers trying to pull off that trick...have an auction at like a dollar...then 500.dollars for shipping

Re: Ebay
lets see what Ebay actually gets you for,
These are the charges I know of.
Flat monthly fee if you sign up as a store
Cost to post those ads which can be significant if it is a low cost item.
percentage of sale with shipping costs.
Do they hit the tax if it is claimed?
Then if you pay by paypal you have those charges and don't forget if there are any disputes made = any monies sit there collecting interest for paypal while they work out the problem.
we missed the boat, should have set up our own auction site

Re: Ebay
To me EBAY is still the best concept.. and probably the safest sights to use....Feedbacks are a good thing to check before and a good thing to have should a transaction go wrong ....it's one of the reasons I find it difficult to deal any other way.... Normal online Shops can give you the shaft easily ...mostly because they know no one can say they suck...it's also one of the reason's I like the Recommended Seller list and Not Recommended sellers lists provided by this board...at least you don't go into anything blind

Re: Ebay
I'm never selling another tank on ebay again...this chap I've sold the tank to will not stop messaging me, so I've had to paint and weather some more stowage for him as somehow he said the other stowage got damaged in transport...can't see how as it was sent in it's original box..and even it did that's the risk the buyer take if he wants it delivered...I did say it could be collected...todays messages are that he thinks the battery doesn't work because it's not getting warm when he's charging it..man it's a new Tornado 3800 ni-mh bat..theres nothing wrong with it I had the tank running for an hour before I posted...why is he complaining if he hasn't even put the battery in the tank yet to test it....had enough of this guy theres been a load of other stupid mesages aswell..the postage cost me double what he paid me...I gave him an upgraded battery, posted him some more stowage, you think he would be happy...that's it, if he messages me again I'm just going to offer to buy the tank back I can't be bothered with these sort of people...

Re: Ebay
Sounds like a nightmare! I'd like to say I'd ignore him but I'd probably act like you. I had a fella buy a boat off me, some how he managed to destroy the motor and speed controller and kept messaging me about how to replace, what batteries to use etc etc and this was some one who collected it!
When it comes to tanks I expect damage if posted, I don't think I've bought one where the detail hasn't come loose! It's a chance you take

Don't know how to react to this one Jake...it's tough sometimes.... Did he leave a feedback for you yet?...If he has...tell him to join a board like this oneJake79 wrote:I'm never selling another tank on ebay again...this chap I've sold the tank to will not stop messaging me, so I've had to paint and weather some more stowage for him as somehow he said the other stowage got damaged in transport...can't see how as it was sent in it's original box..and even it did that's the risk the buyer take if he wants it delivered...I did say it could be collected...todays messages are that he thinks the battery doesn't work because it's not getting warm when he's charging it..man it's a new Tornado 3800 ni-mh bat..theres nothing wrong with it I had the tank running for an hour before I posted...why is he complaining if he hasn't even put the battery in the tank yet to test it....had enough of this guy theres been a load of other stupid mesages aswell..the postage cost me double what he paid me...I gave him an upgraded battery, posted him some more stowage, you think he would be happy...that's it, if he messages me again I'm just going to offer to buy the tank back I can't be bothered with these sort of people...

Not sure if you noticed...we have handled many similar inquiring souls

I know what you are going through though... I haven't sold anything on EBAY in years...and now am only a consumer there... Man...you get messages and Emails

it gets shall I say troublesome after awhile....So you must have double duty with that guy ...
Tell him to join a board...this one if you like...we'll help him out ...the good thing is ...if he speaks badly of you... you will be able to read it

Was thinking of ignoring him..but then he hasn't left any feed back yet so if I ignore him, obviously he's going type something stupid...the tank runs perfect, like I said I'll have it back if he bothers me again....
