Hi guys, very new to the RC game.
Just brought a Hobby 1:16 Abrahams tank which comes with a 7.2V 600mAh Ni-Cd battery pack.
This doesn't give much in the way of driving time! (Approx 15-20mins max)and takes about 6 + hrs to fully charge.
Is there any direct upgrade to a high capacity battery that I could use?
Sorry but complete beginner. I am aware that the higher the Mah the longer it should last.
Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

Re: Better Battery Replacement
Markyt, does the battery use the standard Tamiya connector ? If it does you can just go on eBay and look for high capacity battery park that are similar size and you are set. If not you might have to do some franksteining and buy the battery that fits and then cut the connector from the battery pack that came with the tank and solder it to the new one. You should be able to find 3800mAh - as high as 6500 mAh for decent price. That should last you couple of hours. While you are at it you might want to get a decent charger which will cut down you charge time drastically.Markyt001 wrote:Hi guys, very new to the RC game.

Hi Markyt001
The available batteries to fit are thin on the ground.
what I did (because I had a lot of the HL batteries) was removed the battery box and used a regular heng long battery which is 1700mah which should give you about 2.5 times more run time.
The battery box is screwed in place so easy to remove (some tanks need to cut the box out)
You can also secure the battery in place with verco or tape but leave the connect near the battery cover so come change time leave battery in tank and just connect charger to the battery with out removing from tank.
