Challenger 1. 1/10 scale

Hi have a few pictures of a Challenger 1 I am building its a 1/10 scale weighs in at over 20 kilos , 12v of course 2 70w motors . The body is 1.5 mm thick aluminium stell plating all welded , the gear box is self made below are pictures of the build and how it looks at 80% built . still a few more small steps to go though.

Not too shabby at 40+lbs is that wet or dry ?....another members metal build came in at about 90+ lbs wet ...but he didn't have the kind of equipment you do

WET= Fully loaded...battery motors etc
DRY= Nothing...just the existing outer surfaces nothing inside

So basically yes..RTR

lposter is the other builder who did his KV2 from scratch using normal tools ...said he had to build a special crate to transport it lol....and carry it up a flight of stairs to his new lodgings

Both highly skilled builds . My build was and still is trial and error lol , but fun .and the answer is 20 kilos wet . kept the weight down only by making the hull from alluminiun and the body 1.5 mm aluminium steel plate . I can just about lift it out of the celler on my own without getting an hernia .

I can appreciate how your workshop is set up...wish I had room for a lathe and a tig welder ...I would probably do more scratch building lol....also like that you had the foresight to make your Challie out of aluminum..Nice build...you think you will ever move down to 1/16th
