Looks really nice - definitely getting one. The kit detail looks awesome.
HLJ is going to sell it for €729.17

The HLJ link: http://www.hlj.com/product/tam56036/Rad. Place holder image right now but December release date. If it's like the other Japanese edition kits, it will probably come with a 4 channel Futaba controller and RX.
The good news is HLJ use Fedex, so it will be delivered pretty quick, the bad news is that when Fedex deliver they'll probably hit you with a fee for duties. Still £582 (I make it 3 from the Yen to GBP conversion
) is still a very good price and far cheaper than you'll be able to get it from a local retailer even if they put 10-20% on that price.
My question now is, where can I get English versions of the reference material for the Type 10? I know nothing about Japanese tanks!

Neat Tank, but there are other Tamiya's I want first. I like the fact they developed another 1/16 tank, but I am at a loss why this and not a Abrams...Clearly the Abrams is more world renowned and would, in my opinion, make better business sense...but what do I know...
Re: Tamiya JGSDF Type 10 video
Interesting note on the commander figure.... sounds like they actually scanned a real person to make the mold ...it's a good chance it was photoprinted
Cool Video... Nice Tank...very expensive tank.... nice to see it had metal sprockets ...

Covered a bit before but licensing prevented it. It's not like they've not tried to make one.
We should take away the positive here though, and that is Tamiya has put out two 1:16 tanks in fairly quick succession. This means they're still interested in the market after years of doing nothing but 1 reissued Tiger set. I hope this indicates that same time next year we'll see another tank from them like we saw the JS2 last year.

I agree the Abrams would have been a better business choice, but just like other japanese releases this one smacks of "Saving Face".
I think this is a direct response to the release of the Chinese ZTZ 99 MBT. and it is a matter of national pride that the Japanese type 10 be released.
Just my 2 cents...
The art of war is simple enough. Find out where your enemy is. Get at him as soon as you can. Strike him as hard as you can, and keep moving on. US Grant
