I am a retired engineer of many years experience and over the years have had several interests all engineering based from motorcycle racing to model engineering and military vehicles. A few years ago I saw a few of Armortek products including the Panther. I have always regarded the Panther as the best tank of it's era rather than the over weight and over egged Tiger. It was a while before the model was available but eventually I parted with a large amount of cash and the various boxes duly arrived. It was far from a just bolt together kit, especially the turret which required a lot of fitting before it would go together nicely. During construction I made several mods. to improve reliability and logevity as follows, the batteries were fitted into a turret "basket" to improve weight distribution and keep the turret in place due to the tendency to tip under the influence of the gun barrel. The suspension was upgraded by extending the effective length of the pivots within the hull. The deck was strengthened to support the extra turret weight of the batteries in the turret and the barrel elevation gear was improved. It has the full motion pack but not the smoke and sound or pyrotecniiks. Having had lots of fun including the grandchildren riding on it, it's now in the way of other projects and now has to go, so if anyone out there is interested in acquiring one these fantastic models without the hassle of building one, please get in touch. I'm not going to give it away but I would like to recoup my costs.
