SAINTS @ SOLDIERS, THE VOID, BATTLE OF THE TANKS

Post by tiger tiger »

Hi fellow tank builders, i saw this dvd in my local store the other day and its the third in the Saints n soldiers series films of ww2. This one however is tank themed, the story line is similar to Fury where U.S. troops are advancing through Germany and while 2 U.S. Hellcats are recon through the Hartz mountains, they get ambushed by 3 German Panzers led by a hardened tank veteran from the eastern front, now a training instructor from an armoured warfare training camp, who sees this as a last chance shot at glory.Lots of individual sub plots going on throughout the film. All in all a good film and nice to see something other than a Sherman in a ww2 war film.   ( Still looking forward to Fury tho as it will be a change to see a real Tiger 1 in a film and not some godawful replica thats usually nothing like the real thing )

Hi this one is called Saints and soldiers. THE VOID. it is i think the latest release after the other 2. the back cover reads " BATTLE OF THE TANKS, Germany, may 1945, deep in the Hartz mountains a us tank crew discovers a platoon of germans preparing to ambush u.s.supply trucks. A deadly game of cat and mouse quickly unfolds as the Americans find themselves outgunned and outmanned by 3 German tanks.

Tension and fear begins to grow as the crew reluctantly decide they must stop the enemy from executing their deadly plan. Knowing that hundreds of lives are at stake they must put aside their differences and work together to fight a desperate battle against the greatest odds they have ever faced. fin tah dah. A riveting drama says the salt lake tribune.

i must confess i like them all, i like the sub plots of humanity in them and in this to see a hellcat instead of the usual sherman and genuine german panzer 3 i think is a treat. i got mine in morrisons for £8
