Taigen Panzer 1V Winter Camo Scheme

Post by Bogeyman »

Hi all,

well just purchased the latest Taigen Panzer 1V TG3859 1-w, my Leopard 2 A6 is nearly finished, its awesome, so this will be my next one, first observation the paint job is really good, bearing in mind this tank is pitched as the top end metal parts, second observation is hatch where bb gun is loaded broke off immediately when I tried to lift it, spray paint being the culprit, gumming up hinge, it does run really nice, very smooth responsive, this one has the Taigen 2.4 system as standard, sound is good, no different in quality to HL to be honest, but it is two channel, the tank commander is listed as being fully painted, it isn't, what has really ticked me off is there are some bits missing from the accessory box, 3x spare track links, 1 x track link bracket, (its a u shape piece of plastic, should be 6 only received 5, also you do not get the cannon sound and recoil of the tank when the the bb gun is turned off, so if I want to have sounds of main gun it must be in bb firing mode.

Is this a step forward ? I am not so sure, you may not always want to fire bbs just to get sound effects.

So my first impressions are are mixed, this is a lot of money for a great paint job.

Let me know what you think, also if you want pics.

Sorry, I also forgot to add I e-mailed Taigen for a response on the missing parts as they quote on there website all emails answered in 24 hours, and guess what, they have still not answered, so I think I will give up on that, have purchased from forgebear panzer1v accessory box, its not a lot of money I know, but its the principal, I will now get of my soap box, and get back to building.

Broken, missing parts, and no main gun sound when the BB gun is turned off on the turret and its a "top of the line" version? Oh I agree with Alpha send that back for a new one that works and isn't missing parts. Better yet keep the detail box and send the tank back for a new one that way if the new one is missing parts you'll already have them. That sucks man sorry to heat it.

Thanks guys,

I don't think the no sound or recoil when bb gun is turned off is a fault, we are all familiar with the std Heng long transmitter with the 3 buttons for engine start/off, machine gun, cannon, these are not there on the Taigen T5 transmitter, start/off engine has been relocated to a toggle switch top left of tx, machine gun is top right toggle switch, there is no way to fire cannon unless you use left stick forward with bb gun switched on, there is no K button, is this progress ?

If it's a question of progression.... Way I understand it ...that's how Taigens have always set their tanks up... so it boils down the where the starting point is...if you had Taigens from the beginning...then you would say maybe ..but not really...if you compare it to HL... the no...HL is doing better at progressing...even though HL has basically the same control platform at least they have made an effort to improve upon it... ;)

Alpha,

I sort of understand your where your coming from, the 2 channel sound etc. is better than heng long, it only takes 6 batteries etc, I think I am getting everything the Taigen 2.4 system, has to offer with a heng long std RX18, plus cannon fire using the K button as heng long now has 2.4ghz.

I think its a mistake on Taigens part to at least give the same functionality as HL RX18, I am tempted to remove taigen board and install HL 2.4 RX18 which was in my Leopard 2A6, this was replaced by clarks, everyone please share there views, especially if you are considering buying one of these, please don't get me wrong the tank looks awesome, really nice paint job, weathering etc, I just think it could be so much better and make it really live up to what they have described it as.

I don't know bogie man...had the discussion several times... at the moment... it seems HL's new gen 2.4 is a little better than the Taigen....volume and smoke are controlled remotely...and they boosted the amp for the sound ..while Taigen has sat on theirs ...and it looks like on the new Taigens..they've moved all the manual controls back to the bottom of the tank....Hate to sound critical...but seems like though Taigen is moving forward in "production" of new tanks for us to enjoy....but the internal technology has taken a big step backwards

Kind of disappointing... the new tanks "look" nice...but the more videos I see of them...I find them more and more lacking...seems they just want to satisfy those who hunger for metal parts...no matter how they are thrown together...Thought better of that company...just makes me want to stick with HL..and modify them ;)
