Heng long and taigen 2.4ghz electrics - interchangable?

I saw this advert on ebay, one for the Heng long 2.4 Ghz Tx and the other, for the Taigen 2.4 gig receiver. The possible inference to me is, perhaps these two brands might be compatible parts?



I have the HL 2.4 ghz systems...so if i wanted to change my Heng long 2.4 gig receiver, for a taigen ditto, I could just bind the Heng long Tx to it and it will function? Or is this not so?
The reason I ask is, I have heard good things about the functionality and reliability of the Taigen Rx. Also the added fan on the case is a very good touch and it really doesn't cost that much more then the Heng long Rx.
If anyone has tried this would really like to know, did the radio system parts actually turn out to be interchangeable?

IMHO............HL is better... they have done more homework..and their 2,4 has more features than the Taigen unit

That's not surprising really ALPHA since the Taigen is at least a 2years older design.

To answer the original question, and not just offer an opinion as to which is best, I don't think they are interchangeable

Not knocking Taigen Scalawag...they are improving ... but so far they've offered only two new tanks..and haven't done anything to the internals...it's a fact... HL on the other hand has at least one new tank and two proposed new tanks..and their 2.4s have remote volume and smoke control...so what do you want me to do..lie? Sorry can't do that

No, absolutely not ALPHA, no need to lie at all.

The original post was about compatibility between the 2 systems and not which is the better of the 2.

So in order not to lie all you would have to do is answer the original posters question (no they are not compatible with one another), and keep your opinion about which is best to yourself Instead you chose to ignore the request for information from the original poster and instead offered your personal opinion about which you think is the better of the 2.

Glad you have finally confirmed that the 2 are not compatible, but you could have done that in your first post in this thread

For general use and purpose yeah it is Scalawag... for where you are probably neither fit the need...but it's not up to me is it

I'm curious as to why you say the H/L 2.4 set up is better Alpha? I'm looking to upgrade my H/L Tiger that did NOT come with it and thought Taigen was the only one who offered it, glad I saw this thread. But what further features do the H/L 2.4 set ups offer that the Taigen one does not?

I was like you Jack... there was a point I also wanted to improve the performance of my tanks....at first I was also going to go Taigen...but when I finally went shopping for it ...like out of thin air... the HL 2.4 became available separately ...as before they were found exclusively in two of HLs tanks...that would be the Leo and the T34...liked the performance in the T34 reason I got two lol..........but wanted the system for the rest of my tanks....so I ordered two more RXs ..the company that sold me the new RXs sent me the new gen by accident....but they told me they no longer carry the old 2.4 ...after being told of the new features... I ordered two more and a TX...and they sent me the old stuff lol.... I laugh now...but when it happened I wasn't too happy
Anyway... shortening the story.....the new system has volume and smoke control remotely ...so there are two buttons on the TX where the crystals usually go ...it works great....Painless picked one up for his Pershing
That's the main two improvements over the Taigen.... I'm sure Taigen will follow suit now..it's just a matter of time

For me the HL system was the best way to go.... in the UK probably not....they have higher demands...club meets..battles and such...so they all need to run compatible systems...me? nah ...nothing like that going on here...so I'm pretty happy having extra space ...less wires and great performance without much more expense.

You have a Taigen and a HL right Jack....you should go Taigen if you plan on upgrading...even if it is an older system...that way if you do choose to go IR battling ...your tanks will be more compatible

PS, I have no way of proving this...but I also think HL..jacked the sound amp...because on the remote adjustment...the sound level is much greater than the manual version...at max..it is really loud

I have the Heng Long 2.4 ghz in my HL Panther G, and as Alpha said better sound , more internal space, sound and smoke control from the handset.

Did you find it was Louder too Magman.... I was pretty impressed when I took the remote up to max... ........ think I might have woke up some dead

Yes louder and i found the low volume very good

Yeah ...I run mine at the second lowest setting...that's plenty of sound... a bit richer too
when I first cracked it up...I was temped to put in multiple speakers lol
So yeah HL really did their homework on that set up
