wrong stick movement.

Post by wadsworthj »

Here is a good one.
Hl basic transmitter and h.l. tiger.
The stick control for forwards/ backwards, and turn round are not correct.
to move forwards I have to move the stick to the right and left to reverse.
conversely,
to turn left I have to move the stick forwards/ and rearwards to turn right.
with other tx/rx set ups it would only mean swapping links on the receiver.
But with this set up I am lost.
is there any cure, or has the receiver gone belly up ?
It is brand harry spankers.
Any help would be great.

The only thing i can think of is the motor leads are plugged in the wrong way on the rx18 like left motor in right socket and right socket in left one.

Hi Peeps.
Thanks for the info.
The fat lady is not singing, yet!!!
Changed the motor leads, = no difference.
Changed the rx18, = no difference.
Changed the basic t/x completely, = no change
Changed the receiver board, = no change.
Batteries fresh = ok.
Another thing I have noticed, is
that when I fire the main gun, the tank twitches sidewise , not forwards and backwards.
I am currently building a large pile of fire wood in the back yard, and looking for some paraffin,
Know the feeling folks ?

It looks like it is a faulty transmitter..
I would try to take it apart and see if it is posible to turn the stick so forward is going to be up.

Hi , i recently had same problem on a new 2.4 system and asked for advice here. i have tried everything but to no avail. Rebinding system, swapping motor leads etc. i think that maybe the stick assy has been wrongly fitted in the tx set at the factory, for time being ive left as is, all the other functions are working normaly . Just the right stick controlling fwd rev and lft rt turn/spin are arse about face.

Hi It sounds like motor leads are not correct . try swopping the positive and negative leads over on the motors do one at a time and test.(simple way to do it is turn the plug round to test)if you get it working swop them over permanent.

regards pete

Hi just read the last post idea open transmitter and turn the stick round 90 degrees ,they should only be held by 4 screws.

Yup...someone had that happen about a month ago...it was interesting because I had never seen it happen before...but low and behold...his control surfaces were switched :O ....Thing is ... I've never seen a tank recoil sideways 8O .............. :haha: I kind of find that extra interesting because the recoil from the gearboxes .... can only go in the direction the gearbox is set to go...which is front and back ...even the gun recoil is a front to back motion...
Which brings me to say...Wads has a very cool tank...I almost want it :haha:

If you lift the tank up then push the stick forward then see which track is moving the correct way the track that is moving backwards will be the motor that the leads are wired up wrong positive will need swopping for the negative once done and both tracks are then turning the rite way together the steering should then work as well!

Hey Tank... doesn't it make you wonder why Wad's Tank recoils "sideways" ? 8O I personally don't know any reason why it would do that :O
