M26 Issue, need help
So The M26 Pershing I bought on Tuesday came in last night, Its a Smoke and Sound one, and when i went to try it out I took the battery from my Panzer III H out and put it in the m26.
It started up when I hit the ignition button and it fired the mg good so I turned it off and put it on the floor to try, and when I went to turn it on via ignition it did nothing, I tried taking the crystal out, swapping them via controller/tank, and turning them around, But still nothing.
So my question is: Do I need to buy a new crystal set or does anyone know whats wrong?

Hello again Brant.... again Welcome to the board.... did you try charging the tank battery? generally if it is weak ..you have to extend the antenna on the TX almost all the way out... as the RX will not have enough power to receive the signal... also since you took out the crystals ... try reinserting them again... make sure you have the right one in the right thing and in the right place

Good Morning,
Welcome to the Forum. As Alpha noted. Make sure that the crystals are in firmly and in the right direction. Charge that battery or replace it with a stronger one and your issues should clear up. Make sure that all of the batterys in the TX are contacting and new as well. Pictures of your Pershing when you get the chance.
regards,
Painless

Re: M26 Issue, need help
ok, i did that and it started working... Kinda, and also I found out that my tank is the 2012 model of the pershing super edition. Do the crystals burn out at all? and should I replace them with newer ones? or replace the controller.
Oh and ill take some pictures of the Pershing, and my Panzer III H, Mind you the Pershing is 2 years old and I bought it off ebay for $50 (total win right there) and my Panzer III H has some minor damage ( some small plastic parts broke, and one of the spare road wheel holder broke when being shipped)
But I'll take some pictures

Hello Brant... Yes the crystals can burn...so can the motherboard ... but if your tank is working it is probably just a bad connection... probably from disconnecting them ....If you want more reliable performance... I would recommend upgrading to a 2.4 gig rig.... I've changed out four of my tanks... and I can say am very pleased with the performance...the cost is well worth itBrantwan wrote:ok, i did that and it started working... Good Morning, Brant,
If your Pershing has the RX-18 type of board with the plug-in connectors, no, you shouldn't need anything else. You will want to remove your receiver board when you do the swap and unhook your existing antenna but nothing else, really. The 2.4 sets are really good.

Well when you purchase the entire 2.4 rig... it should come with everything you need.... you don't need the motherboard anymore... so what a set generally includes is the TX 2.4 RX and a binding buttonBrantwan wrote:Ok to upgrade to a 2.4 gig rig, I need the 2.4 board and a new controller right? anything else?
I think welshdragon has them for about 80 US dollars less shipping

Re: M26 Issue, need help
ok sounds good... But I now gotta buy a new controller, because upon taking out the batteries one of the springs that holds the negative side rocketed out and now i cant find it. And ill also need to replace the Elevation drive because my Pershing cant seem to move the cannon up or down, or would I need one
Re: M26 Issue, need help
Just noticed you're in Canada.... you ever deal with Mato Mart? or RC Dynasty?...Their 2.4 gig rigs are sold ala carte... but if you can hang on till they have a sale... their price is really good... and I have it on good authority they will be having the new gens in stock soon... I got one from them it's awesomeBrantwan wrote:ok sounds good... Now the issue with your old transmitter... just go to the nearest radio shack...purchase one of those battery holders they sell in the project area... and pull the spring off one of those.... it's less expensive.. and probably faster to do it that way...especially if you are going to upgrade

Good Luck Brant
